(NYSE:  ESI).  Mr. Coombes is an accomplished technology executive having over 25 years of leadership experience in strategy and management roles within small, growth and large scale businesses.

Mr. Coombes joins ITT ESI from CNO Financial Group, a publicly traded $4.3B insurance company. As CIO & CTO of CNO since 2005, he realigned the company’s strategy for the appropriate mix of efficiency, business growth and innovation.

Prior to joining CNO, Mr. Coombes was CEO and Owner of Health Care Systems Corporation where he led the successful turnaround of this aging healthcare technology company resulting in an asset sale.  Previously, he spent 3 years as a Senior Consultant at PDMA, focused on technology related product strategies and economic development projects in private industry and government.

Earlier in his career, Mr. Coombes was CIO and Owner of Professional Data Management, an industry leading insurance administration software product, and led the company from startup to its successful acquisition byIBMCorporation. Post acquisition, Mr. Coombes remained with IBM for 5 years as Executive Director of Advanced Technology, developing next generation global insurance technology solutions.

Mr. Coombes earned his MBA from Anderson University, and holds a BS in Information Systems Management from the University of San Francisco and an AA in Computer Studies from Sierra College.
